Sierra Community College, Rocklin Campus
Borrego Solar completed two roof mounted arrays totaling 84kWDC at the Rocklin campus of Sierra Community College in September, 2011. The arrays use Sunlink frames at 20 degree tilt and 322 Yingli 260W modules. The roof arrays compliment a 972 kWDC carport system to provide power to the campus via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Bob Parkins Renewable Energy Consultants reviewed the completed design drawings, provided construction monitoring, and helped provide training as a continuation of its overall project management duties on behalf of the college.
Sierra Community College, Rocklin Campus
Borrego Solar commissioned a 972 kWDC solar carport in September, 2011, one of its host of projects serving the electrical needs of the Rocklin campus by a Power Purchase Agreement. The carports cover 304 parking spaces with 3,738 Yingli 260Watt modules and provide 60,000 SF of shaded area. Bob Parkins Renewable Energy Consultants reviewed the completed design drawings, provided construction monitoring, and helped provide training as a continuation of its overall project management duties on behalf of the college.
Sonoma County Juvenile Justice Center
A 750 kW solar system, comprising ground and roof arrays, was completed this January, 2011, for the Sonoma County Juvenile Justice Center. Bob Parkins Renewable Energy Consultants designed the electrical system, inspected the completed construction, and helped coordinate the final approval by the County permitting officials.
Sierra College Approves PPA
On September 14, 2010, the Board of Trustees for the Sierra Joint Community College District (District) unanimously approved a Power Purchase Agreement with Borrego Solar for over 1.2 MW of solar power at its Rocklin and Nevada County campuses. The scope includes numerous roof mounted and carport PV systems. Bob Parkins Renewable Energy Consultants assisted the District by evaluating the solar potential of the two campuses (23 meters, eight different utility tariffs, and two energy providers), developing a Request for Proposal, evaluating the responses, participating in the contract negotiations, and providing coordination support with the utilities and the Board. With the contract approval, Borrego will now complete the final design documents, obtain approvals and begin construction. Bob Parkins Renewable Energy Consultants will continue to support the District by reviewing the design, monitoring construction and commissioning the completed systems.
Bob Parkins Consultants provides technical guidance for US Bancorp and Sunwheel Energy
Bob Parkins Renewable Energy continues to serve Sunwheel Energy Partners and US Bancorp as an independent, third party solar consultant, to monitor construction, commission PV systems, and provide technical support for low income housing projects in California. Sunwheel is installing PV systems on their properties throughout the U.S. The California projects are partially funded under the California Solar Initiative, Multifamily Affordable Housing Program (MASH). As of September 2010, four northern California and five southern California units are either completed or in progress.
